About Ilianne

I am an experienced mother, wife, author and designer dedicated to assisting the pregnant woman to embrace her pregnancy. In my newly published book, The Art of Pregnancy, I accentuate the romantic with the essential aspects of the woman’s journey through her pregnancy into motherhood and beyond. I encourage the expectant mother not to wait until her baby is born to commence her mother-child relationship, even though her baby is still in gestation. I share these and other gifts of insight with the pregnant woman to assist her to have a more sublime, joyful and fulfilling pregnancy.

As I have already lived these divine moments, I know very well what we women desire to know, and what by necessity we should learn, about pregnancy. It is true that being pregnant is wonderful. But it is also true that a million questions emerge. There are so many topics we would love to know more of, both about ourselves and about our babies in gestation. And most importantly, I know what it means for us to experience the joy of motherhood.

Let's all be excellent mothers, from the beginning of the life of our babies, that is, from the moment of conception. Let’s fill their first moments of life with all our love. Let them know we are here for them, and that no one else in the world will love them, care for them, protect them, and to be able to move heaven, sea and earth to see them grow up healthy, strong and intelligent, from the beginning of their existence. Only us: their blissful moms.

I don't know about you, but during my first pregnancy, finding myself far from my traditional support groups (including my mother, sisters, cousins and aunts), I thoroughly researched all that I could learn about the process of pregnancy and childbirth. During my research, I became increasingly frustrated with the “text book” approach of existing books on the subject. Moreover, the overly technical nature of these books caused me to become nervous, and at times even scared, during my pregnancy. In discussions with my friends, all confided to me that they had also encountered similar frustrations and fears after reading these books. After viewing the volumes of research I had assembled for my own benefit, one of my friends suggested I should write a guide or a good book, for women who are pregnant in terms women could more easily relate to.

After my first child was born, I decided it was time, and commenced writing The Art of Pregnancy for expectant mothers. The book is based upon my research, my own experiences, and my own philosophy. The Art of Pregnancy explores pregnancy from a mother’s perspective, in tones of warmth, reassurance and most of all, love. Thus, was born... The Art of Pregnancy.

In addition to my first book, The Art of Pregnancy, I have written several other books, which will soon be published, enhancing the love and joy of pregnancy, and the art of motherhood to the fullest.
